Genetically Modified Organisms- Persuasive piece
Your task is to complete a 500 word persuasive piece arguing your opinion on one of the following topics.
· Labelling of GM food
· Germ line therapy being legalised in Australia
· Cloning animals
· Cloning plants
· Designer babies
· Genetically modified animals used to grow human organs
· GM crops being grown in South Australia
· A topic of your choice based on genetic engineering…. (requires teacher agreement)
Before you start you should check out my page on writing a persuasive piece. Make sure you read it carefully and download the template to help you scaffold your assignment. All the information you need to write a good persuasive piece is there. You will be required to get this document checked by your teacher before you start writing up your assignment. You will also need to hand up this document as part of your assessment.
Make sure you are taking notes while you watch videos and that you keep track of all the resources you will reference including the date and time you access any online resources. Refer to your student diary for further details on correct referencing.
You may like to make use of the online referencing generator to assist you with your bibliography, which must contain at least 5 separate sources (not including Wikipedia!).
When you have completed your task you should submit it in hard copy with the task rubric and persuasion template. Also take the time to reflect on how you have performed by completing the online self-assessment.
